Job Description Summary:
Performs general clerical/office activities to assist administrative and/or professional personnel. Incumbents interact with the general public by providing information and assistance as it relates to the department's activities/services, rules and regulations. Work in reoccurring and incumbents are required to select the guidelines and reference that apply to the specific activity. New assignments are given with specific instructions and are not significantly different in nature or procedure from current and/or past assignments.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATIONANDEXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in English, Reading, Mathematics, Science, Technology or related field from an accredited institution is required.
Two years full-time or equivalence part-time experience in providing direct services in an educational or social service environment working with at risk students (teaching/tutoring)
One-year prior secondary school teaching and one-year supervisory experience in an educational or social service setting preferred

PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. Must possess the ability to continually record information, such as draft correspondence/reports/documents/policies/procedures, conduct interviews, prepare case narratives, or prepare other lengthy documents using handwritten or mechanical means.
SPECIALREQUIREMENTS
Valid Driver's License required – this position requires regular travel to assigned target schools, and other local area(s).
Must be willing to operate college vehicle(s) when needed.
Some evening and weekend hours required during the academic year, and extended hours during the six-week summer component
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
A background investigation will be conducted prior to the offer of employment. A signed authorization for the release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview
