Johnson County has implemented a skill-based pay plan of up to $4200 annually for staff who have obtained licensure by the BSRB at the Clinical Level.
Johnson County Mental Health is hiring a licensed Master’s Level Clinician to work in their Family Focus program, providing clinical services to justice involved youth, ages 12-18, who are referred by the Department of Corrections and have been diagnosed with severe emotional disabilities (SED) and their families. Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is provided with the goal of maintaining severely emotionally disturbed youth in the most natural, least restrictive setting possible. The schedule requires evening availability. Services will primarily take place in the youth/families home, with an office location in Olathe. Evening availability is required. The schedule will vary based on the needs of the children served. A typical work schedule is from 10am -7pm. This team with utilize Functional Family Therapy as the primary mode of treatment. Training/experience with FFT and working with youth involved in Corrections is a plus.
What You’ll Do:
Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments as a part of the intake and diagnostic process, ongoing provision of services, and/or crisis intervention; identify individual needs and diagnoses substance use and/or mental health disorders; assess individual risk for suicide and other safety related concerns; determine the need for medication evaluation and referral; interpret and communicate relevant information to individuals, families, and other stakeholders.
Develop complex treatment and intervention plans to address the clinical needs of individuals in single or multiple areas of focus; network with other community agencies to research and coordinate a variety of resources and services to address comprehensive, intensive, or long term individual needs; encourage the establishment and maintenance of support systems; collaborate with other providers in the development, implementation, and review of plans.
Provide psychotherapy and other clinical and therapeutic services for a designated case load of individuals, groups, and families with complex, intensive, or ongoing needs; ensure services provided are consistent with individual plans; initiate and attend individual and/ or group meetings and provides services in a community based setting; organize and facilitate skill development, clinical, and support groups; respond to emergency or crisis related requests from individuals and/or agencies; arrange for appropriate care and services; review and updates diagnosis and level of care.
Complete and submits clinical documentation regarding services provided; evaluate and document individuals' progress according to measurable goals; review and approve documentation and plans of care developed by other staff to ensure services are consistent with the level of care required for each individual's needs; monitor the quality and effectiveness of services provided.
Serve as the clinical expert on the treatment team by providing consultation to case managers, providing crisis intervention support for the team and serving as the back-up to the Team Leader.

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Addition Counseling, or other Human Services field
Kansas Behavioral Sciences licensure at the master’s level in the area of focus
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Johnson County Mental Health Center is a department within the Johnson County, Kansas Government and serve residents living with a mental illness. Populations served include adults and young adults with serious mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbance, as well as individuals with a co-occurring substance abuse disorder. Additionally, services are provided to those individuals who are experiencing acute psychological distress that may result in an intensive level of service such as hospitalization.
