As an expression of our commitment to our staff and clients, Akin provides extensive professional training and development for employees. Child & Family Therapists receive a robust, individualized training package specific to their position that includes evidence-based therapies, including certification where applicable. Therapeutic models may include Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Circle of Security, Incredible Years, Celebrating Families!, CBT+, Trauma-Focused CBT and more! AS A CHILD AND FAMILIY THERAPIST YOU WILL:
Provide ongoing clinical and/or case management services to a diverse population including specialized treatment services in a variety of settings conducts intake, assessment, and diagnosis.
Conduct initial consumer screening intake and assessment
Assess and determines consumer diagnosis/service need
Develop treatment/service plans and/or make appropriate community referral
Implement treatment/service plans using a variety of therapeutic/educational interventions in a variety of locations and settings
Perform treatment/service evaluations and follow-up
Perform routine administrative duties associated with a clinical setting
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with appropriate community resources
Advocate for the values of a diverse population within Akin and the Community
WHAT YOU BRING:
A Master’s degree in Social Work or related field is required, plus 2 to 4 years’ clinical practice with children, youth, and families that was gained under the supervision of a mental health professional recognized by the state of Washington
Required Agency Affiliated Counselor Credential (obtained after hire)
A valid Washington State driver’s license is required
Proof of CPR and First Aid Certification is required within 30 days
A one-step Mantoux TB skin test prior to start of employment. For those who have previously tested positive, documented proof of treatment from a doctor or a negative chest x-ray must be provided
HIV/AIDS and blood borne pathogens training required within 30 days
Successful completion of a criminal background check
Successful completion of a driver's check and at least five years' driving experience. Must not have more than two driving incidents within the last three years
* Must have 1-3 year’s experience to pass licensure exam to progress to Child & Family Therapist (licensed)
SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive pay, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The target starting pay for this position is $22.93 -$32.76, typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicant’s pay history into account. The range above allows our employees room for growth during their tenure in the position.
